1. GO TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY CHL WEBSITE

Familiarize yourself with the DPS concealed handgun website in general and the requirements to obtain a Concealed Handgun License.

3. SCHEDULE YOUR FINGERPRINTS

SAFRAN / Morpho Trust USA, is the Texas mandated sub-contractor for CHL electronic fingerprints. You must FIRST apply online and pay the DPS CHL application fee before you are allowed to schedule your fingerprints with Morpho Trust USA... or by mail, the DPS must have already received your paper application and fees before you can schedule your fingerprint appointment. When you contact Morpho Trust USA, they will verify your application and payment, and will then schedule you. Your electronic fingerprints are emailed to your DPS application account.

Two professional quality properly sized passport style photos are needed for your CHL and are available at local national chain drug stores. Do not wear glasses when having your photo taken. Mail your photos to the State DPS with the notarized paperwork received upon receiving a passing grade from your CHL-Training.com class.

4. REGISTER FOR THE CHL TRAINING CLASS

Click the "Home Page” tab at the top of this page and register for the class and date of your choice. You register with your normal credit or debit card. PayPal will then notify CHL-Training.com.  

You then send an email to info@chl-training.com and specify the date you want.  You will receive a confirming/information email within 24 hours. If you don't want to use a credit or debit card, that's okay. You can mail a check or money order (call or email for address). Add 8.25% for tax.

5. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO APPLY for your Concealed Handgun License at this time, you can take the CHL Training class now and apply later. We give you all of the DPS forms that you need to get your CHL in class. You can then mail everything in to the DPS at once and then get your fingerprints. The paperwork you receive in class is good for up to two years to make application.
